Table 3 questions

There's been some talk these days about different social classes. Most people say they belong either to the middle class or the working class. Do you ever think of yourself as belonging in one of these classes?
(IF YES): Which one?
(IF NO): Well, if you had to make a choice, would you call yourself middle class or working class? (note: 1% of respondents volunteered ‘lower’ or ‘upper class’ here).

Survey: American National Election Studies; 2004 Pre-Post Election Study (Center for Political Studies, Institute for Social Research, The University of Michigan).

 

Questions are taken from two time periods: before and after the 2004 elections. The “pre” questions were asked from September 7-November 1, 2005. The “post” questions were asked from November 3-December 20, 2005.
